 Job Description

 Our company is looking for a talented and qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team! The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibilities are to install, maintain, and repair various types of machinery and equipment.

 Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of automated equipment including pumps, blowers, gear boxes, conveyors, relay logic, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and the HVAC system. Changes oil and greases equipment as scheduled, replaces parts in accordance with factory specifications, completes preventive maintenance, installs new equipment, and assists with routine building maintenance. Completes work order records and files all related maintenance paperwork. Assists area staff as required, responds to the maintenance needs of different departments, and keeps management well informed.

  Essential Functions

 Assumes responsibility for effectively completing assigned maintenance duties.

  • Works on automated equipment and performs calibration and system checks
  • Works with production to improve equipment to speed up production efficiency.
  • Inspects equipment, checks operating condition, and logs repair needs.

 Performs maintenance jobs as requested on daily work orders such as repairs pumps, blowers, conveyors, gear boxes, and other equipment as needed.

 Adjusts pulleys, belts, chains, and moving parts as necessary.

 Performs routine preventive maintenance.

  • Changes oil and greases equipment as scheduled weekly.
  • Installs new equipment and assists with the physical preparation of piping and electrical wiring required for changes and additions to the facility.

 Rebuilds broken equipment and replaces parts in accordance with factory specifications.

  • Diagnostics of automated equipment including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and all controls circuits.
  • Completes welding assignments as scheduled.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures, and operates equipment in accordance with established safety policies and department procedures.

 Assumes responsibility for maintaining related records.

 Updates equipment maintenance records as appropriate.

  • Ensures that management is appropriately informed of area activities.
  • Follows and enforces Food Safety rules in production area and when working on equipment.

Position Qualifications

Minimum two years of related industrial experience

  • Able to read and follow blueprints, and use all related equipment and tools including hoist, jacks, lift,

lathe, drill press, saw, forklift, loaders, grinder, crane, snow blowers, lawn equipment, trucks, etc.

  • Welding, pump, blower, and gear box experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License
